The geography of the route of the Silk Road Rally is planned to be expanded

The Silk Road International Rally Marathon plans to expand the geography of the route in the future. Vladimir Chagin, the project manager, told Izvestia about this in an interview on July 25 following the results of the last race.

According to him, so far the road of participants runs only through two countries, but the fact that the route will increase is in the plans.

"We want those days to return faster, when it was possible to draw a route so that you just walked up to the globe, picked up a marker, and drew a route. Now, of course, we are a little constrained within this framework, but in any case, we are sure that they will return to the old days," he shared.

Earlier that day, Chagin said that in motor sports, all international federations and competition organizers try not to belittle the role of man in favor of new technologies. According to him, innovations such as unmanned vehicles or electric vehicles should not disrupt the competitive balance in the rally.
