Rescuers are working in shifts at the crash site of the AN-24 passenger plane in order to complete the elimination of the consequences as soon as possible. This was announced on Friday, July 25, by Igor Smirnov, head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Amur Region.
"Here, in the deployed camp, there are all kinds of communications. All information flows to this camp. The Investigative Committee and rescuers of the main directorate can also rest and work in shifts here in order to carry out all the work as soon as possible and complete the emergency situation," he said.
He also clarified that following the meeting of the government commission, hotel rooms were organized for relatives of the victims who would come to the crash site.
Izvestia journalist Evgenia Pashchenko clarified that the operational headquarters is located 3 km from the crash site.
The AN-24 passenger plane crashed in the Amur region, 15 km from the city of Tynda on July 24. When the aircraft was flying on the Khabarovsk – Blagoveshchensk – Tynda route, communication with it was lost. Later, his burning fuselage was found on the ground. All passengers and crew members were killed. Their bodies were recovered from the wreckage on July 25.
The governor of the Amur Region, Vasily Orlov, added that investigative actions are currently being carried out at the crash site. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation later clarified that flight recorders were found at the crash site of the AN-24.
