On July 25, the Federation Council approved a draft law that provides that the spouses of the deceased participants of the SVR will be able to use their vehicles before issuing a certificate of inheritance.

The relevant bill was adopted by the State Duma in the second and third readings on July 22.

A widow will be able to use a car owned by HER husband, who died in the documents, without the consent of third parties and before issuing a certificate of inheritance. To do this, she will need to obtain a notary's certificate for temporary use of the car. On the basis of the issued documents, the widow can conclude a CTP contract for the car.

Now, according to the law "On Vehicle Registration", the registration of a car is terminated if there is information about the death of the owner. She faces administrative liability for using a vehicle belonging to a deceased member of her family before the official entry of the spouse into the inheritance. The authors of the law noted that as a result, widows are deprived of the opportunity to continue using a car, which may be necessary for transporting children to educational and medical institutions, before inheriting (for a period of at least six months).

Earlier, on July 22, the State Duma adopted an amendment on the right of the civilian wives of deceased members of the SVO to benefits provided they live together for three years, as well as have a child together. As part of the initiative, widows of military personnel can be provided with social support measures for running a common household at the time of signing a contract for military service, including for mobilization.
