Madagascar has joined Intervision

Madagascar has joined the Intervision International Music Competition, becoming another participating country. The honor of representing the island state fell to the star duo Denise and D-Lain.

Denise and D-Lain have been friends since they were young, united by a common passion for music. The musical path of Ratolojanari Lalain Josiah, known to everyone as D-Lain, began from childhood. At the age of 8, he first realized his passion for singing, and as a teenager he joined a gospel choir. He studied at the prestigious vocal studio Alliance Française in Antananarivo, participated in the castings of the world musicals Mamma Mia! And Notre Dame de Paris. In 2009, he was recognized as the best gospel vocalist. But the singer made his real musical breakthrough in 2012, when he won the Castel Live Opera, beating competitors from eight African countries. His talent was noticed, and in 2013, the guy went to Paris, where he signed a contract with Universal Music France's Island Africa. Returning to Madagascar in 2017, D-Lain began a solo career.

In 2014, Denise won the Talent of the Island of Africa, the African equivalent of American Idol. The victory earned her a contract with Universal Music, but the singer refused to tour the world for the sake of her homeland. "I just want to show that Madagascar is not garbage (fako), but rather a promising place," she noted. Therefore, in 2015, the singer went on a big tour of Africa, during which she performed in Nigeria, Guinea and Côte d'Ivoire. In addition, the singer created the main Madagascar music festival, Macua.

According to the performers, their main goal is to maximize Madagascar's cultural potential. They admitted that they joined Intervision without hesitation.

This year, more than 20 countries, including BRICS, CIS, Latin America, and the Middle East, will participate in the Intervision International Music Competition. The final of the International Competition will be held on September 20, 2025 at the Live Arena in Moscow.
