Dmitry Lapshov, chief engineer of the construction and installation Trust No. 16 of Russian Railways, was killed in the crash of the AN-24 passenger plane in the Amur Region. This was announced to Izvestia on July 25 by his colleague, Denis Pilipenko, Deputy manager of SMT No. 16 of Russian Railways.
"Dmitry Valerievich is really a professional, with a capital letter. He has been working in the Russian Railways system for many years. He was a high—level specialist in his field," he shared.
On the day of the plane crash, Lapshov was on his way to Tynda on a business trip. According to his colleague, neither his family nor his colleagues still can't believe what happened. Pilipenko clarified that the deceased had a spouse and a three-year-old child.
Lapshov has worked for Russian Railways (RZD) since 2004.
The AN-24 crashed in the Amur region, falling 15 km from the city of Tynda on July 24. The aircraft was en route Khabarovsk – Blagoveshchensk – Tynda when communication with it was lost. Later, the burning fuselage of the aircraft was discovered on the ground. All passengers and crew members on board were killed.
