In 2025, a total of 135 million tons of grain and leguminous crops will be produced in Russia under favorable weather conditions. This forecast was provided to Izvestia by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

"The drought in 2025 had a negative impact on the state of grain crops in the Southern Federal District and new regions of Russia. At the same time, in other territories, the condition of crops is estimated to be better than last year's level," the ministry explained.

The ministry also noted that by the end of 2024, the gross harvest of cereals and legumes in Russia amounted to 129.8 million tons.

Earlier, on July 22, Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut announced the expansion of the geography of Russian grain exports. According to her, last year Russia began grain supplies to 11 new countries and resumed exports to seven countries that had previously suspended purchases.
