The Thai armed forces deployed Ukrainian-made T-84 Oplot tanks on the border with Cambodia. This was reported on July 25 by the Defense-Blog magazine.

"For the first time, Thailand used its main battle tanks, the Ukrainian-made T-84 Oplot, in combat operations. <...> The Royal Thai Army used tanks during the assault on Cambodian military positions near the Thai-Cambodian border," the magazine noted.

According to the Defense Blog, the deployment of tanks was a show of force aimed at "regaining lost ground."

Earlier, on July 24, an armed clash took place on the disputed border between Thailand and Cambodia. According to the Reuters news agency, the military of both sides accused each other of firing the first shots. Later, the Thai government closed the border crossings with Cambodia. Thailand's four provinces bordering Cambodia have announced the evacuation of residents. It was clarified that a Cambodian artillery shell fell on a gas station in Sisaket, which led to the death of two people.
