The court arrested the Minister of Property of the Chelyabinsk region, Eldar Belousov.

The Basmanny District Court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention for the Minister of Property of the Chelyabinsk region, Eldar Belousov. He will remain in jail until September 22, 2025. This was reported on July 24 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

Belousov is charged with Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Abuse of official authority").

According to investigators, the official, together with the former deputy governor of the Chelyabinsk Region, Alexander Bogashov, and the head of the governor's and government affairs department, Roman Menzhinsky, organized the illegal construction of a wellness complex on the territory of the residence of the head of the region. The prosecution claims that they acted through the director of a real estate developer. The amount of construction costs exceeded 50 million rubles.

The investigation also believes that a fictitious document flow was organized to conceal violations.

The day before, law enforcement agencies detained Bogashov. It was clarified that this was done as part of the investigation of a criminal case on abuse of official authority during the construction of a health complex. The next day, Bogashov was detained until September 22.
