Citizens of Ukraine and Georgia are wanted in the case of the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge.

Five citizens of Ukraine and Georgia, who became defendants in the criminal case of the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge, have been put on the wanted list, and all men have been charged in absentia. Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, told about this on June 24.

He pointed out that the terrorist attack itself was prepared and organized by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) under the leadership of its chairman Vasyl Malyuk (listed in the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist), the newspaper notes.Ru». "It included citizens of Ukraine Mikhail Tsyurkalo, Denis Kovach and Sergey Andreichenko, citizens of Georgia Levan Benashvili and Alexander Inasaridze, as well as carriers of the explosive device to Russia. All of them have been charged in absentia with committing a terrorist act, illegal trafficking and smuggling of explosive devices, and they are wanted," RIA Novosti quoted Bastrykin as saying.

The explosion, which occurred on October 8, 2022, claimed the lives of a transport driver and four other people in a passenger car. According to investigators, Malyuk created an organized group in 2022 to commit a terrorist attack on the Kerch Bridge. It includes the above-mentioned and other persons. Malyuk and his accomplices manufactured an explosive device in Ukraine and disguised it as a cargo of plastic construction film. Then they took him to the Crimean Bridge in a truck driven by a man who did not know about their plans.

On October 13, 2024, it became known that Malyuk was charged in absentia in the case of organizing a terrorist attack in the summer of 2023 on the Crimean Bridge. He was charged under paragraph "b" of Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("A terrorist act that caused the death of people").
