Grigory Grechkin, a graduate of the Moscow school, became the winner of the International Physics Olympiad, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his Telegram channel. The mayor of the capital congratulated the student and expressed confidence in his further success.

The International Physics Olympiad was held in Paris this year. The tasks of the Olympiad were divided into two stages — theoretical, in which it was necessary to solve problems in the main sections of the school physics course, and practical, where participants performed laboratory work. Earlier, Grigory Grechkin received maximum points at the All-Russian Olympiad of Schoolchildren in Physics and became the winner of the Asian Physics Olympiad. In the future, Grigory plans to study at the Phystech School of Physics and Research named after Landau at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

"Congratulations on his well—deserved victory and I am sure that with such talent, knowledge and perseverance, he will succeed!" wrote Sergei Sobyanin.
