This was announced on July 24 by Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, speaking about the work of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation on the implementation of state demographic and family policy.

She noted that, among other things, through the efforts of the council, family-centricity has been made a common cause. The council itself is a "think tank" for analyzing the situation and developing effective demographic policy measures.

"Today, in every ministry and department, if you call, they will tell you the name of the deputy minister, whose competence includes issues of demography. Such a "demographic special forces" has been created in every ministry, department, government, this sphere has covered business, higher education institutions, civil society institutions, and so on," Matvienko said at a press conference.

The head of the Federation Council expressed the hope that Russia will be able to return traditional family values. Matvienko noted that there can be no "important and unimportant" issues in solving demographic problems. The targeted approach is a whole system of comprehensive measures to support children and families, which is a priority for the State.

"And our council is, in my opinion, one of the most effective mechanisms and tools in the national system for promoting the demographic agenda," said the Chairman of the Federation Council.
