A 48-year-old individual entrepreneur suspected of publicly calling for terrorist activities has been detained in Sevastopol. This was announced on Thursday, July 24, on the website of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city.
"Under the post about the air alert in Crimea, a 48-year—old local resident left comments calling for airstrikes on the Crimean Bridge," the ministry said.
According to police, the man created several accounts in the messenger under false names. Through them, he publicly justified the attacks on the Crimean Bridge and drone attacks on Moscow's infrastructure facilities.
It has been established that the suspect is engaged in fruit and vegetable trade on the local market. Law enforcement officers detained him with the forceful support of the Sokol SOBR fighters and the assistance of employees of the FSB Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls for terrorist activities").
On the same day, nine Russians were detained in the Krasnodar Territory, Astrakhan, Vladimir, Murmansk, Omsk, Kherson, Yaroslavl Regions and the Jewish Autonomous Region, who are suspected of calling for the murders of Russian military personnel and law enforcement officers, as well as their family members. A criminal case has been opened against the defendants under Part 2 of Article 205.2 ("Propaganda of terrorism") and Part 2 of Article 280 ("Public calls for extremist activities") The Criminal Code of Russia.
