Rospotrebnadzor examined water samples from reservoirs in which residents of the Trans-Baikal Territory like to swim. It turned out that the water does not meet sanitary standards in nine reservoirs, including Kenon and Arakhlei lakes.

According to the ChitaMedia news agency, with reference to the press service of the department, in the period from July 10 to July 17, experts examined 25 water samples. The water in Kenon, at the quarries in Kadala, on Lake Arakhlei near the rural settlement of Arakhleiskoe, the village of Preobrazhenka, in the area of Peskov, in Lake Ivan near the village of Tasey, in the Nikishikha River, in the Ingoda River, on the Onon River was recognized as not conforming to the standards. The water in the Nercha River near the village of Zarechny also does not meet sanitary standards.

Letters have been sent to local administrations demanding that residents be informed about the ban on bathing. It is also necessary to install warning full houses.

The agency notes that since the beginning of the year, experts have examined 110 water samples for sanitary and chemical indicators and 131 for microbiological ones. 13.6% and 29%, respectively, did not meet hygiene standards. In addition, 72 samples were taken for parasitological indicators. Only one does not meet the standards.

In mid-June, in Transbaikalia, the sanitary authorities banned swimming in two places on the Ingoda River. Rospotrebnadzor considered that the water on these beaches does not meet the requirements of hygienic standards.
