Khabarovsk residents warned of possible flooding due to heavy rains

In the Khabarovsk Territory, in the Verkhnebureinsky district, flooding of territories is possible due to a sharp rise in water levels in local rivers. Household plots, lowlands and roads may be affected by flooding, especially near the Urgal and Bureya rivers.

As stated in the Far Eastern UGMS, local rains, showers and thunderstorms will take place on July 24. Experts have already recorded cases of flooding of small reservoirs, including where there is no constant hydrological monitoring, IA AmurMedia writes with reference to the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.

The ministry called on residents to take precautionary measures, clear ditches and drains of debris, empty basements of property and food, move valuables, appliances and furniture to attics or upper floors of buildings, think in advance how to transport pets and poultry to safe places, collect important necessary documents, medicines and basic necessities to an evacuation case.

Earlier it was reported that in Russia as a whole, forecasters expect significant weather deviations from the norm and natural disasters in August 2025. There will be abnormal heat in some places, local showers, thunderstorms and squally winds.
