The first batch of UAZ produced in Cuba was handed over to the client
The first batch of UAZ vehicles assembled by the large-scale method at the Cuban enterprise has been handed over to the client. The keys to several off-road vehicles of the Patriot model were handed over to the state customer, a source at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant told Izvestia on July 24.
"This procedure allowed us to work out the processes of selling, receiving payment and pre—sale preparation of machines for corporate customers, which will optimize the related processes at each stage in the future," said the source at the enterprise.
A similar scheme will be tested for private clients, and a batch of UAZ Pickup trucks will be delivered to them in the near future.
Large-scale assembly of UAZ vehicles started in Cuba in April. The planned volume of production of Russian-made cars on the island after the enterprise reaches its design capacity will be up to 500 vehicles per year. The UAZ Patriot and Pickup models, adapted to the climatic and road conditions of the region, were the first to enter the assembly line.
Earlier, on July 26, representatives of UAZ informed Izvestia that the company intends to expand and intensify the brand's presence in South American countries. In particular, in Venezuela and Nicaragua.
