British politician and journalist George Galloway said that Western media consider Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky a fraud. He announced this on YouTube on July 23.

"When The Economist, The Financial Times and The Spectator praised Zelensky as the new Churchill, <...>..> they suddenly discovered that <...> Zelensky was a clever little crook, <...> a petty thieving rat," Galloway said.

He also accused Zelensky of inciting the West to engage in confrontation with Russia over the conflict, including through his corrupt activities.

The law on limiting the powers of two anti-corruption agencies entered into force on July 23. On the same day, the head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula Von der Leyen, demanded clarifications from Zelensky after the adoption of the law.

A day earlier, mass protests against the adopted law began in Ukraine. Rallies were reported in Kiev and Lviv.
