- The Guardian reported on Trump's signing of three decrees on the development of AI technologies
US President Donald Trump has signed three executive orders aimed at developing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. This was reported by The Guardian newspaper on July 24.
On Wednesday, Donald Trump signed three executive orders that he promised would turn the United States into an "artificial intelligence export hub," including a directive aimed at what the White House called "awakened" artificial intelligence models.
The Guardian clarified the essence of these decrees.
"An order <..."It is part of the administration's broader campaign against diversity, which also targets federal agencies, academic institutions, and the military. <...> Trump also signed executive orders aimed at speeding up the issuance of federal permits for data center infrastructure and facilitating the export of American artificial intelligence models," the newspaper added.
According to the publication, these decrees became part of the "Winning the Race" plan, a long—promised document that was announced shortly after Trump took office and canceled the order of the administration of former US President Joe Biden on artificial intelligence, which prescribed some security measures and standards regarding technology. It outlines the White House's vision for managing artificial intelligence in the United States, and promises to accelerate the development of the fast-growing technology by eliminating "bureaucracy and burdensome regulation."
Earlier in the day, it was reported that Beijing intends to step up research in the field of artificial intelligence with partner countries within the framework of the BRICS. The need to open up new promising areas of economic growth and expand cooperation in the field of digital technologies was noted.
