Scammers deceive Ozempika customers on Telegram
Fraudsters began to massively deceive Russians by selling them counterfeit drugs for diabetics on Telegram, which some also use for weight loss ("Ozempik" and "Generics"). This was reported to Izvestia by Alexandra Pozharskaya, an expert of the Popular Front project For Borrowers' Rights and the Moshelovka platform.
According to her, over the past month and a half, more than 100 signals have already been received. Users claim that they find tempting offers of discounts or low prices for drugs in special messenger channels with the brand names of large pharmacy chains.
To purchase the drug, the attackers suggest going to a separate chat. In case of refusal to make an advance payment or full payment, as a rule, scammers begin to talk about the lack of deliverers with the necessary thermal containers and convince them that later the medicine will significantly increase in price.
If a potential buyer transfers money, then without any contracts they are transferred to the accounts of individuals, allegedly they belong to the managers. As a result, the attackers either sell fakes, or simply extort money and disappear.
In such schemes, scammers focus on the desire of Russians to get in shape for the beach season. However, these medications should be prescribed only by a doctor and only after a set of tests and examinations.
