Prime Minister of Ukraine Sviridenko meets with G7 ambassadors
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko met with the ambassadors of the G7 countries to discuss the law on the restriction of the rights of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP). She wrote about this on July 23 in the social network X.
"Today we held a meaningful meeting with the ambassadors of the G7 countries, dedicated to one of the most important areas — anti-corruption policy. The Government of Ukraine is fully committed to the principle of zero tolerance for corruption. This principle will be clearly reflected in the government's action plan," the message says.
Sviridenko noted that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky intends to introduce a bill on anti-corruption activities, which, according to the Prime Minister, will resolve all contradictions within the country's legislation and strengthen the independence of Ukraine's policy from other states.
The law on limiting the powers of two anti-corruption agencies entered into force on July 23. On the same day, the head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula Von der Leyen, demanded clarifications from Zelensky after the adoption of the law.
A day earlier, mass protests against the adopted law began in Ukraine. Rallies were reported in Kiev and Lviv.
