Dutch hockey player Sprong has signed a one-year contract with CSKA
Dutch striker Daniel Sprong has signed a one-year contract with hockey club (HC) CSKA. This was announced on Wednesday, July 23, on the club's website.
"CSKA has signed a contract with striker Daniel Sprong. The agreement is for one year, until the end of the 2025/26 season," the statement said.
The 28-year-old hockey player previously played exclusively in North American leagues. In the 2015 National Hockey League (NHL) draft, he was selected by Pittsburgh with the 46th number. In the league, Sprong also played for Anaheim, Washington, Seattle, Detroit, Vancouver and New Jersey.
During his career in the NHL regular season, he scored 166 points (87 goals and 79 assists) in 374 games, played 14 games in the Stanley Cup and scored 3 points.
Russian hockey player Nikolay Kovalenko signed a two-year contract with HC CSKA on July 12. In the 2024/25 season, the striker played for the San Jose Sharks and the Colorado Avalanche in the NHL. The 25-year-old has played in 57 games throughout his career. In them, he managed to score seven goals and give 13 assists.
