AvtoVAZ may send Lada Azimut crossover for export
The Lada Azimut crossover, which was introduced in June this year, is planned to be exported. This was reported on July 23 by the analytical agency "Autostat" with reference to the press service of AvtoVAZ.
"Of course, the model has export potential, but we will be able to talk about specifics after the start of sales of the car," the company noted, but did not name possible sales markets or planned delivery dates.
Earlier in April, the head of AVTOVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, said that in 2025 the company plans to export more than 30 thousand Lada cars, which is at least 43% more than in 2024. He named the markets of Iran, Kazakhstan and Vietnam among the important areas for the company. In the spring, AvtoVAZ opened its first dealership in the United Arab Emirates.
The start of serial production of Lada Azimut is scheduled for 2026. The crossover will be equipped with upgraded engines of its own production with a volume of 1.6 liters and 1.8 liters with a capacity of 120 hp and 132 hp, respectively. One of the main and unusual features of the model was the electric heating of the front side windows.
On July 8, LikeAvto Managing Director Julian Gavrilov said that the new Lada Azimut crossover in the basic configuration could enter the market at a price of up to 2 million rubles, and the maximum equipped model could cost about 2.6 million rubles. Alexander Shaprinsky, commercial director of the Pragmatika dealership network, suggested that the price of the first Lada crossover would range from 2.3 million to 2.7 million rubles.
