Polish soldiers wounded a migrant from Sudan on the border with Belarus while attempting to detain him. This was reported on July 23 in the Rzeczpospolita newspaper with reference to the Polish armed forces.

It is specified that a group of military detained a group of migrants who illegally crossed the state border.

"In accordance with the established procedure, the military personnel of the Podlasie task force used direct coercion measures, including smoothbore weapons," the publication says.

It is noted that a citizen of Sudan was injured in the incident. He received a gunshot wound to his thigh from a rubber bullet. The victim was taken to the hospital.

On July 14, a soldier from Poland fired rubber bullets at a migrant on the border with Belarus. The victim was a resident of Afghanistan who tried to attack a soldier.

Earlier, on May 22, the Polish Interior Ministry announced plans to erect an electronic barrier on the border with Belarus. According to the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of the country Tomasz Semoniak, work is underway to erect an electronic barrier on the Bug river along the Polish-Belarusian border.
