- Serbia has announced plans by the West to strengthen the influence of intelligence services in the region
The West wants to strengthen the influence of its special services in Serbia and the Balkans. This was stated on Sunday, July 23, in an interview with Izvestia by the head of the Committee of the Serbian Parliament on Diaspora and Serbs in the region, a deputy from the faction "We are the Voice of the People" Dragan Stanojevic.
"Britain and Germany have signed an agreement that is actually aimed at war against Russia. Serbia is also under attack, as it remains the only link connecting Russia with the center of Europe, and a friendly country where the majority of the people support and respect Russia," Stanojevic said.
According to him, the intelligence services of Western countries have agreed to strengthen their work in the region. For this purpose, it is planned to implement projects aimed at eliminating pro-Russian forces from politics. The plans also include aggravating the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, supporting separatism and encouraging protests.
Stanoevich stressed that pressure will be exerted on both the government and the opposition to control the situation in the country.
In late June and early July, anti-government protests took place in Serbia demanding early parliamentary elections. The actions resulted in clashes between protesters and police, as well as mass arrests of participants. On June 29, Serbian Prime Minister Juro Matsut said that the country's special services and police are strong enough to prevent an attempt at a color revolution, which Western intelligence agencies have been trying to organize since November 2024.
