Israel has intensified fighting in Gaza City. This was announced on Sunday, July 23, by the press service of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
"In the area of Gaza City in the north of the Gaza Strip, troops are intensifying operational actions," the IDF wrote on its Telegram channel.
It clarifies that the IDF troops continue to operate in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, identifying and destroying the ground and underground infrastructure of the Palestinian Hamas movement.
In addition, during the fighting, Israel managed to detect and quickly destroy several Hamas militants as a result of an airstrike.
On July 21, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the ongoing violence in the Gaza Strip, including the shelling of people trying to get food for their families at humanitarian aid points. He also expressed alarm at the rapid deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Palestinian enclave and called for the immediate release of the hostages.
