The Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) has sentenced Jennifer Ann Mulley, a 49-year-old American woman who participated in combat operations on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), to 13 years in prison in absentia. This was reported on July 23 in the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.
"The court sentenced Mulley in absentia to 13 years in prison to serve his sentence in a general regime penal colony," the publication on the agency's website says.
The verdict was passed in a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Participation of a mercenary in an armed conflict").
It was established that in the fall of 2022, a US citizen arrived in Ukraine and voluntarily joined the International Legion as a mercenary. She completed military training and received personal firearms, ammunition, uniforms and special equipment.
It is noted that Mully took part in the fighting until February of this year. For this, she was paid remuneration in the amount of over 1.5 million rubles.
Earlier, on July 21, the DPR Supreme Court sentenced David Fernandez, a mercenary of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Spain, to 14 years in prison in absentia. It was established that he arrived in Ukraine in the spring of 2022 and participated in the conflict as part of the 59th separate motorized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The defendant will serve his sentence in a high-security penal colony.
