In the situation with the investigation of the activities of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO), it is important for Kiev not to come out on their own. This was stated on July 22 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commenting on the situation around the restrictions on the work of these two structures.

"Well, what are you talking about? You understand, this is the case... the main thing in any investigation is not to come out on yourself," Zakharova said on Sputnik radio.

She also ridiculed Kiev's statements about the alleged "Russian trace" in the work of NABU and SAP.

"They didn't look well [for a Russian trace during the searches]. The Russian trace had to be found by finding felt boots, a sweatshirt, a padded jacket, a padded jacket, as they call it, a hat with earflaps. A couple of bears had to be pulled out of the corner, you know, resisting. Balalaika should be placed. This is the Russian trace," the diplomat added.

Earlier, on July 22, it was reported that mass rallies were being held on the territory of Ukraine due to the law on the restriction of the rights of NABU and SAP. In Kiev, the action took place near the Franko Theater. It is clarified that one of the posters at the rally held in Lviv stated that Zelensky's law is a "capitulation to corruption."

The law on the limitation of powers, abolishing the independence of the two anti-corruption agencies, entered into force on July 23. Earlier, it was signed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

Gunnar Lindemann, a member of the German Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, told Izvestia that the Kiev regime was putting pressure on NABU because it feared investigations into its own embezzlement.
