A resident of Novosibirsk was detained for illegal fishing with a prohibited net
River police arrested a Novosibirsk resident red-handed for fishing with a net banned in the region. This was announced on Wednesday, July 23, by the Transport Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Region.
"40 specimens of bream, crucian carp, ide and walleye got into the gear prohibited for fishing," the agency said in a Telegram post.
The damage caused by the illegal actions of the man is estimated at over 44 thousand rubles. A criminal case has been opened on this fact under Part 1 of Article 256 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal extraction of aquatic biological resources"). Now the attacker faces a prison term of up to two years.
Earlier, on July 9, it was reported that in Kamchatka, police officers during Operation Putin-2025 detained a suspect in the illegal fishing of more than 100 kg of salmon species. The damage caused by his actions amounted to almost 240 thousand rubles.
