The US State Department said thousands of people have been convicted of criticizing their own governments, calling it censorship and an "Orwellian message."

Earlier, on July 5, a rally in defense of democracy and freedom of speech was held in Moldova. A group of people with slogans gathered on the territory of Europa Square, signs and posters read: "No to dictatorship!" and "No censorship!"
