Starting in 2027, the recruitment of officers to the adjunct program (the equivalent of postgraduate studies in civilian universities) will increase by almost one and a half times. This was told to Izvestia by sources in the field of military education.

By 2034, the Russian Defense Ministry plans to open 15 new military schools that will require teachers, and increased recruitment to the adjunct faculty will help solve this problem, the interlocutors told the publication.

When recruiting for the adjunct, an influx of officers who took part in a special military operation (SVO) is expected. According to Izvestia's interlocutors, they should become the basis of the scientific and pedagogical staff of military schools and academies.

"The country needs military scientific and teaching staff now," military expert Viktor Litovkin told Izvestia.

He recalled that more than ten years ago there was a severe reduction in military schools and teaching staff in the country. According to the expert, this "was a serious damage to the military education system and it needs to be repaired," that is, teachers can be trained and only the adjunct can do this.

"We should not forget about the creation of new military schools — they also need teachers," Litovkin explained.

Officers with higher education are accepted to the adjunct school. They take exams in a special discipline, philosophy and a foreign language. During his studies, the associate must defend his PhD thesis. Upon graduation, he is awarded the academic title of Candidate of Military Sciences.
