Chinese sellers have started counterfeiting auto parts brands from the Russian Federation

Chinese sellers began to massively copy domestic brands of auto parts and car accessories. If no such cases were recorded in 2024, then in the first half of the year dozens of copies of shops of domestic companies selling counterfeit goods were created on online platforms, market participants told Izvestia.

Experts told how to distinguish counterfeit automotive components from the originals.

Sellers from China clone not only individual photos and descriptions, but entire product cards, which provides them with high positions in issuing, says Alexey Ivanov, owner of the Alliance Trucks commercial vehicle dealership network.

The online marketplace selects the product with the best offer and raises it to the top of the distribution. Thus, the original store ends up in the bottom positions, and orders go to the counterfeiters.

According to Emex, fake spare parts and accessories are sold through fake stores: car brushes, brake discs, pads, filters, technical fluids, etc., that is, the most popular automotive products. In the first quarter of 2025, the number of counterfeit components on the Russian market increased by more than 20%. AVTORUS records the copying of its brands of car accessories and spare parts Arnezi and Ganz.

According to the analytical agency VMT Consult, the brands Avtoprestizh, a brand of inexpensive electronics and parking sensors, Sibiria Auto (Novosibirsk), a manufacturer of thermowells and heaters for the engine, as well as Technoprofil and Voltage, which produce car lamps and electrical appliances, are often forged.

Brands that have already accumulated a good reputation and high sales on marketplaces are the most vulnerable to copying, says Ekaterina Kosareva, Managing Partner of VMT Consult. The trend towards brand cloning is systemic and is noted in other segments, added Askar Rakhimberdiev, CEO of the MoiSklad service.
