The United States has concluded a "winning" trade deal with Indonesia for American manufacturers, according to which Jakarta's goods will be subject to 19% duties, and Washington will sell its products at a zero rate. This was announced on Tuesday, July 22, by the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

"It is a great honor for me to announce the conclusion of our trade agreement with the Republic of Indonesia. <...> The United States of America will now sell American—made goods to Indonesia at a zero tariff rate, while Indonesia will pay 19% for all its goods shipped to the United States," he wrote on his Truth Social network.

Trump also clarified that, in accordance with the agreement, Indonesia will supply valuable minerals to the United States. In addition, Jakarta will conclude major deals with Washington "for tens of billions of dollars," including the purchase of Boeing aircraft, American agricultural products and energy resources, the head of state stressed.

On the same day, American Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that the United States would try to negotiate with China on extending the period of duty relief. For example, the United States and China will hold a meeting in Stockholm on July 28 and 29, where the parties will work on a possible extension of the deal.

Earlier, on July 18, The Financial Times (FT) newspaper reported that the American leader was tightening his position on the trade deal with the European Union (EU), insisting on the introduction of a minimum tariff of 15-20%. It is noted that in this way, Trump is trying to check the "pain threshold" after negotiations, which mentioned duties of 10% on imports from Europe.
