The Ministry of Education and Science has provided the development of more than 120 AI training programs

Over the past four years, the Ministry of Education and Science has provided the development of over 120 bachelor's and master's degree programs in the field of artificial intelligence within the framework of the relevant federal project of the national program "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation". This was reported to Izvestia by the ministry's press service.

16 universities participated in the development, which received grant support in the amount of more than 600 million rubles. The Ministry of Education and Science clarified that in 2024, 113 universities in 65 regions of the Russian Federation, including 97 regional partners, implemented these educational programs.

"Almost 15 thousand students have studied and continue to study according to the developed programs. <...> The training of teaching staff is being carried out," the press service added.

In turn, representatives of the Ministry of Finance noted that over the past five years, the number of IT specialists in Russia, including in the field of AI, has grown by 50% and continues to increase. The Ministry is actively working to ensure the training of professionals in this field.

"The Ministry of Finance plans to support the development of AI, including as part of a new national project. <...> Also, together with the Alliance in the Field of Artificial Intelligence Association, a Concept for the development of AI regulation until 2030 is being prepared at the site of the Russian Ministry of Finance," the press service said.
