A third of the monthly precipitation rate fell in the center of Moscow
A third of the monthly precipitation rate was recorded at a weather station in the center of Moscow. This was announced on July 22 by Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos Weather Center.
"The center of the capital received another third of the July rainfall rate! The expected rains have returned to the capital. By 6 p.m., another 29 mm of precipitation had fallen in the city center, on Baltschug, or a third (35%) of the July norm," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Leus also recalled that even more precipitation fell in Moscow on July 21 — 92 mm. In addition, a total of 184 mm has fallen in the capital since the beginning of July, which means 219% of the climatic norm, the specialist added.
Earlier in the day, meteorologist, specialist of the Meteonovosti news agency Tatiana Pozdnyakova reported that a record amount of precipitation fell in Moscow on July 21 since 1879. The previous precipitation record for this day was set in 2000 and was 39.5 mm.
