A teenager drowned in an artificial pond in Petrovsk-Zabaikalsky

A teenager drowned in the Petrovsk-Zabaikalsky district in the Trans-Baikal Territory. Searches are underway, the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia reports in its Telegram channel.

The tragedy occurred on Tuesday, July 22, on an artificial pond in the vicinity of the city of Petrovsk-Zabaikalsky. According to eyewitnesses, a boy born in 2010 drowned in the water.

"Firefighters from the 31st fire and rescue unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Trans—Baikal Territory and police officers are working at the site," the report says.

According to ChitaMedia news agency, this is the fifteenth person who died on the water in Transbaikalia since the beginning of the year. Earlier in the day, the body of a 62-year-old man was found in the Ilya River in the Duldurginsky district. His search lasted 10 days.
