A woman was killed and a child was injured in an accident in the Orel region.

As a result of an accident on a highway in the Livensky district of the Orel region, a woman was killed and her child was hospitalized. This was announced on July 22 in the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"As a result of the accident, a passenger born in 1998 died, a passenger born in 2019 was taken to a medical facility," TASS reports the text of the department's statement.

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred on 132 km of the Orel–Tambov highway. The driver of the Lada Kalina car allowed the exit from the road, which caused the vehicle to turn over, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Orel region clarified.

Traffic police officers are working at the scene, the circumstances of the incident are being established.
