Psychologist Roman Tsvetkov spoke on July 22 about the causes of burnout at work. According to the expert, emotional burnout is not ordinary fatigue, but a serious depletion of the body's internal resources.

"Neuroscience says that between the ages of 25 and 34, if a person's work is mental, then he is working at the peak of his potential due to youth and motivation. But physiologically, the systems of self-control and stress tolerance are just being formed, they do not have a solid base. Cortisol comes to the rescue," Tsvetkov explained in an interview with Radio 1.

The psychologist noted that with prolonged stress, cortisol depresses the immune system, disrupts sleep and reduces the level of hormones of joy. In addition, the prefrontal cortex of the brain, responsible for concentration and control of emotions, is disrupted, and the brain goes into survival mode. In this state, a person may feel the urge to give up everything. Burnout is the result of ignoring your emotions, Tsvetkov emphasized.

On July 18, expert Svyatoslav Semerenko, in an interview with RT, called the habit of constantly making excuses an obstacle to career development. According to him, the phrases "I didn't have time because of the workload" or "This is not my area of responsibility" create the image of an unreliable employee. Semerenko stressed that fear of expressing one's opinion and unreasonable modesty can also hinder professional growth. 360.ru .

On the same day, the Director of Research hh.ru Maria Ignatova urged not to ignore burnout. According to her, if such thoughts become regular, then you need to look for the reason. Sometimes it can be an overload, and sometimes a lack of career development, the website writes kp.ru .

Also in July, Evgenia Gankina, director of the Roskachestvo Organizational Development Department, said that a full-fledged return to work processes after burnout should be approached gradually. In order to prevent repeated exhaustion, it is necessary to find additional sources of energy. These should be activities that are not related to work and do not require results.

On July 2, Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, called for going on sick leave or on vacation in case of burnout, writes NSN.

Earlier, doctor Olga Ulankina, in an interview with RIAMO, explained why apathy is felt in cloudy weather. According to her, due to the lack of sunlight, the production of serotonin and vitamin D decreases, which causes apathy, drowsiness and loss of strength, as well as melatonin levels increase, the body switches to energy-saving mode. This is a natural reaction, but if the condition drags on, it's worth checking your health, the doctor said.
