Polish General Skshypchak, who threatened the Kaliningrad region, has died
The former commander of the Polish land forces, General Waldemar Skrzypczak, died at the age of 70. The death of the military was announced by the country's Defense Minister Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh on his page on the social network X (former. Twitter).
"We have received the sad news of the death of General Waldemar Skshipchak," the head of the department wrote on July 21.
Skrzypczak served as Commander of the Polish Ground Forces from 2006 to 2009. At various times in his career, he led the 16th Mechanized and 11th Armored Cavalry Divisions. In 2012, the general was appointed to the post of Deputy Minister of Defense for Procurement.
The military was known for harsh statements against the Russian Federation. In particular, he took the initiative to review the status of the Russian Kaliningrad Region, arguing that the region allegedly historically belonged to Prussia and had no strategic importance.
