Russian chess player Shogdjieff became the youngest international master in history
Ten-year-old Russian Roman Shogdjieff became the youngest international chess master. This was announced on July 22 in the press service of the Russian Chess Federation (FSHR).
"Roman Shogdjieff has officially become an international master. The FIDE Council (International Chess Federation. - Ed.) awarded the title to a 10—year-old child prodigy," the Telegram channel says.
It is noted that Shogdjieff's achievement will be sent to the Guinness and Russian Books of records.
Earlier, on June 24, 15-year-old Russian chess player Maxim Ivannikov defeated Norwegian Magnus Carlsen in the weekly Title Tuesday prize tournament. Later, on June 25, the Russian shared that at first he was happy, but could not believe in his victory.
