Irina Podnosova, Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, who died on Tuesday, July 22, put the interests of society and the state first, and she worked hard for the good of the country. This was announced on July 22 by the head of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin.

"Hard work for the good of the country, dedication, skill and high moral qualities helped it achieve high results, serve the law and justice," Bastrykin said, quoted by the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

According to him, Podnosova was an honest and independent judge, "an example for future generations of lawyers." In addition, the Investigative Committee of Russia expressed condolences to Podnosova's family and friends.

Podnosova died on July 22 at the age of 71. In 2020, she was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation — Chairman of the judicial Board for economic disputes. In 2024, she became the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.
