The former commander of the Polish land forces, General Waldemar Skrzypczak, died at the age of 70. This was announced by Polish Defense Minister Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh.

"We have received the sad news of the death of General Waldemar Skshipchak," the head of the Ministry of Defense wrote on July 21 on his page on the social network X (former. Twitter).

Skrzypczak commanded the Polish ground forces in 2006-2009.

The general was known for his anti-Russian statements, in particular, he called on Warsaw to claim the Russian Kaliningrad region, which is supposedly historically the land of Prussia and has no military significance.
