US President Donald Trump intends to get out of the Ukrainian conflict both diplomatically and in the field of military assistance. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on July 22.

"Trump seems to be more interested in withdrawing from Ukraine through diplomatic and military means. And his decision underscores more serious concerns about America's weak defense spending and its economic willingness to increase military production," the newspaper noted.

According to the newspaper, a similar conclusion can be drawn from Trump's recent actions in the international arena in relation to Ukraine in the conflict with Russia.

On July 14, Trump announced that the United States would impose 100% secondary duties on Russia if a settlement of the Ukrainian conflict was not reached within 50 days. He also stated that he supports the congressional initiative on sanctions against Russia, but "does not yet know whether it will be necessary."

On the same day, at a meeting at the White House with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, the American leader said that the United States and the European Union had reached an agreement on the supply of weapons to Ukraine. Trump stressed that the weapons will be manufactured in the United States, but they will be paid for by European countries.
