The gunners of the Center group of forces destroyed the AFU UAV control center
In the Red Army area, the calculation of the 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzer of the Center group of forces destroyed the calculation of the FPV drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), located in a building on the outskirts of the settlement. This was announced on July 22 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
It is specified that the target was detected by operators of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), monitoring the line of combat contact around the clock.
"There is a lot of activity of FPV drones, Baba Yag at night, and enemy UAVs. Our intelligence detects, they tell us the coordinates of the targets, and we work out the UAVs at these points," said the commander of the gun, Diyar Iskakov.
The gunners carried out an accurate fire strike from a closed position at a distance of about 20 km. The constant adjustment of fire by drone operators made it possible to hit the target with a minimum number of shells. As a result of a direct hit, the building with the drone crew and equipment inside was completely destroyed.
"We are carrying out tasks to support infantry in strong points, enemy manpower, in shelters, as well as in enemy equipment, we are working with high-precision projectiles at UAV control points, as well as equipment. <...> When we, for example, work all day at UAV control points, we notice a decrease in activity in the following days. We can work out up to 10 points per day," battery commander Denis Zhuravlev said.
Earlier, on July 21, a Molniya UAV crew destroyed fortifications with the Ukrainian Armed Forces infantry in Chasovyi Yar. It is specified that after receiving the task, the servicemen promptly assembled the drone and took off from a pre-prepared position. To increase efficiency, a TM-62 anti-tank mine was attached to the UAV. As a result of the strike, a fortified AFU stronghold with enemy infantry in an abandoned house in the private sector was destroyed.
