In the Trans-Baikal Territory, an attacker stole more than 14 million rubles from a railway company

A criminal case on embezzlement of more than 14 million rubles from a railway transport company has been sent to court in the Trans-Baikal Territory. This was announced on July 22 by the press service of the East Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office in the Telegram channel.

"In the period from April to October 2021, the accused purchased parts for the alleged repair of railway rolling stock, which he resold to other persons. As a result, he stole more than 14 million rubles from the company," the department said.

It is specified that the person involved was the deputy director of a commercial organization. The criminal case under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud") against him was sent to the Ingodinsky District Court of Chita for consideration on the merits.

A day earlier, a suspect in the theft of nine packages of cheese from a store was detained in Velikiye Luki. It is specified that a few minutes after the store staff pressed the alarm button, employees of the Rosgvardiya extra-departmental security arrived at the scene. An investigation is underway into the theft.
