- The UK estimated a bribe in the form of building a bathhouse for Ivanov's ex-wife at 56 million rubles.
The Investigative Committee of Russia (IC) estimated at 56 million rubles a bribe in the form of the construction of a bathhouse and boiler room for the ex-wife of the ex-Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Timur Ivanov from the co-owner of Olimpsitstroy Alexander Fomin. This was reported by law enforcement agencies on July 22.
"The defendant Fomin made a frank confession during the interrogation and said that in exchange for protection from Timur Ivanov, a sauna and a boiler room were built for his ex-wife. Investigators qualified the businessman's actions as paying a particularly large bribe (Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), which is estimated at almost 56 million rubles," the source told TASS.
At the same time, it is noted that Timur Ivanov himself has not been charged under Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe").
The former deputy minister was detained on April 23, 2024. Ivanov is charged with accepting a bribe in the amount of 1,185 billion rubles. According to investigators, he entered into a criminal conspiracy with the heads of contractors working at the facilities of the Ministry of Defense, and concluded contracts with them in exchange for personal remuneration.
On July 1, Ivanov was sentenced to 13 years in a penal colony. In addition, Ivanov was sentenced to a fine of 100 million rubles, deprived of the state award and the title of Honored Builder of the Russian Federation. The second person involved in the case, Ivanov's ex-subordinate Anton Filatov, was sentenced by the court to 12.5 years in a penal colony and a fine of 25 million rubles.
