Moscow has had a record amount of precipitation since 2000 for July 21. Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist of the Meteonosti news agency, reported this in her Telegram channel on Monday.

"In Moscow, at VDNKh, precipitation totaled 21 mm, and 49 mm per day. This is a new daily record! The previous one was 39.5 mm in 2000," the Moscow City News Agency quoted the report as saying.

According to the forecaster, the day of July 21 was the only time when heavy July rains covered the entire territory of the capital.

Earlier in the day, the Moscow Department of Transport earlier in the day reported rain with thunderstorms and winds of up to 15 m/s in the capital by the end of the day, writes "Moscow 24". Drivers were advised to avoid sudden maneuvers, not to be distracted by the phone while driving, and not to park cars under trees and shaky structures, RT reports.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
