Senior Sergeant Dmitry Chernenko was monitoring the airspace in the area of a special military operation when he noticed an enemy quadcopter-type unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) approaching Russian positions. The Russian Ministry of Defense on Tuesday, July 22, told about the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Chernenko immediately contacted the command and informed about the approach of the drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The soldier was ordered to destroy the device. With several accurate shots from his standard weapon, Chernenko shot down a drone, which crashed away from the Russian positions and detonated without harming equipment and personnel.

The Ministry of Defense also noted the courageous and professional actions of the operator of the reconnaissance group's UAV crew, Corporal Ilya Yefimov, who performed the tasks of searching for targets and further correcting the fire of Russian artillery and mortar crews.

In a difficult electronic environment, Yefimov was able to detect a camouflaged AFU stronghold and several firing positions with the help of a drone. The soldier promptly contacted the gunners and coordinated firing on the exposed targets until the enemy's support was completely eliminated.

Earlier, on July 21, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Junior Sergeant Yaroslav Pavlov had received a combat mission to make a passage through the mine-explosive barriers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the task, he noticed an enemy drone rapidly approaching him in the air.
