State Department (Department of State) The United States has approved the potential sale of a missile defense system to Bulgaria for $620 million. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on July 21, citing the Pentagon.

"The US State Department has approved the potential sale of the Naval Strike Missile Coastal Defense System and related equipment to Bulgaria for about $620 million," the publication said.

As the agency noted, the main contractor for the delivery will be Kongsberg Defense and Aerospace AS.

Earlier, on July 12, the State Department approved the sale of $100 million worth of A-29 Super Tucano aircraft maintenance systems and related equipment to Lebanon.

On July 10, it was reported that US President Donald Trump plans to sell weapons to NATO member countries so that they can supply them to Ukraine. The portal emphasized that the decision of the American leader should not be equated with the intention of the United States to arm the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
