India has seen record growth in its renewable energy base, which has given impetus to the country's clean energy goal by 2030. This was reported by Bloomberg on July 21.

"In the six months to June inclusive, the capacity of the country's power plants increased by 22 GW, which is 56% more than a year earlier," the agency writes with reference to the Indian Central Electricity Administration.

According to Sushma Jagannath, vice president of Renewable Energy and Energy at Rystad Energy, India is not currently undergoing an energy transition.

According to the publication, the state's clean energy capacities, including large hydroelectric power plants and nuclear power, have already surpassed the capabilities of fossil fuels. It is noted that this will contribute to the implementation of India's plan to install 500 GW of non-fossil sources by the end of the decade.

Earlier in the day, NDTV reported that India has unveiled a plan to create the country's largest ecosystem of green hydrogen. It was noted that it is also planned to organize its storage and distribution. India plans to use green hydrogen, including in industry and electricity generation.
