Hungary, Serbia and Russia discussed the construction of a new oil pipeline to supply oil from Russia. This was announced on July 21 by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto.

"We are negotiating with our Serbian and Russian colleagues on the construction of a new oil pipeline connecting Hungary with Serbia," he wrote on his Facebook page (owned by Meta, a company recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

Szijjarto also posted photos of the trilateral talks, which took place in the format of a teleconference.

In April, Szijjarto announced that the construction of an oil pipeline between Hungary and Serbia would be completed in 2028. He stressed that through this pipeline Hungary will be able to provide raw materials to the Serbian oil refinery in Pancevo, which plays a key role in the country's energy supply.
