At least 19 people died as a result of the crash of a training aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force (VVS) on the territory of a college in the capital Dhaka, the number of victims ranges from 100 to 150 people. This was reported on July 21 by the Daily Star newspaper, citing government officials.

"As a result of the crash of an Air Force plane on the campus of Milestone College, at least 19 people were killed, including the pilot," the publication says.

There is no exact number of victims, their number is constantly growing. According to the newspaper, more than 30 people were taken to the emergency department, two to the burn unit, and another 18 to the local district hospital.

Most of the victims were college students, and most were burned. The military, as well as eight fire protection and civil defense units, were involved in the rescue operation. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified.

A training aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force crashed in Dhaka earlier in the day. It was noted that the plane crashed at the entrance to the Milestone College. Shortly after the crash, the aircraft caught fire.
